When I arrived at Serenity House I was desperate to find a solution to my drinking problem. I had been struggling for years, trying to control my drinking, but with little or no success at all. I had come to a point where I consciously knew that, if I would continue drinking as I did, death would arrive early in my life.
Looking back on my years of drinking, I remember thinking, why could I not drink as "normal" people do? Why would for example a couple of drinks with friends, be the start of drinking sprees that could last for weeks? During the month I spent at Serenity House those questions, and many more were answered.
Chris and Anita met me with compassion and understanding. Having been entangled in alcoholism themselves, they could really relate to my story as a suffering alcoholic. Their own life experience together with teaching the twelve step program, has helped me to take my power back, and let go of the mental obsession I had around alcohol. I have left Serenity House with a clear understanding of my illness, and I feel that I have found strength in my own weaknesses.

After one month in treatment I have a clear understanding of my illness, and I feel that I have found strength in my own weaknesses. (Read more) please link to below.
